Key Scene Refilming
Due to problems with the first key scene, we have decided to change this key scene slightly. The problems which were focused upon was that the hand held footage was shaky and the train station shown was meters away from the Sutton park location. We have also decided to change the characters of Reece and Tom to girls who are Nisha and Phoebe, this is due to the boys being at different schools taking different A-levels and being unreliable because of coursework, different friendship groups and part-time jobs.
Key scene Refilming: Paige and Ree meet Nisha and Phoebe at the train station and the friends travelling to Sutton Park where they set up camp.
1. LS - Opposite platform, Nisha and Phoebe standing on with their luggage.
2. Establishing Shot - The weather changing.
3. Low Angle - Paige and Ree meeting Nisha and Phoebe after them getting of the train.
4. FF - The group all walking to the park messing around with the camera
5. MS - Paige picking a spot for the tents.
6. OSS - Group sitting conversing before setting up camp
7. Establishing Shot - Weather changing
8. MS - Paige and Ree walking off to collect the water
9. LS - Nisha and Phoebe setting up the tents.
10. POV - Someone watching them from the bushes.
11. Establishing shot - Of the two friends the dark figure in the distance

Film Billboard
Film billboards are a form of promotion, these can be promoted in several different places such as buses, billboards and around the a cinema area. A billboards aim is to give information to the audience such as release date, a dominant image and the title with the exception of any well-known actors. The title is the largest piece of information on the billboard as this is the most important. The title is in capital lettering to attract attention because without this the audience would not know the name of the film to go and view it. The text is a relevant font to the genre of the film such as 'You're next' is a slasher horror and the text looks like marks of a knife or scratches. The images on the billboards are very minimal, they consist of a main character who is a popular actor/actress or a image of interest in the movie. I have included examples of both conventions such as the main character in 'The others' being Nicole Kidman and a image of interest being the spiral hypnotizer which is included within the film SAW. The image of the paranormal activity is someone prayer showing religious views attracting a very diverse audience to normal as religious people do not like the thought of the devil and evil around them. The release date is equally as important as the image, this is because it promotes and sells the product, without the release date the audience would not know when to go see the film. the date is emphasized by being in a different colour to the rest of the information ot being in a different view of syntax. From these posters, immediately the audience can see the genre of the film being 'horror'; this is shown by the dark colour of the poster being grey or black alone with red. The colour red is very popular for the horror genre as the connotations are blood, evil and represent the devil. The visual syntax of a billboard consists of the elements being off centre. This means the title is seen first, then the date, the image and finally the tag line or famous actor/actress which is in order of importance.
Film Magazine
Each of the mastheads are large, bold and capital font. The empire masthead is usually red but the gold colour used is eye catching and matches the connotations of “Empire” which are that of power. The colour of the "Empire" changes due to the cover which shows the connotations of the genre of the magazine for example, the green and black for the dark/evil characters. The masthead is always located at the of the page which makes it noticeable because it is one of the most important features of the page as it is what the institution wants the audience to recognise and remember. The headline being a different font to the masthead also make the uses of standing out. The majority of images are closeups of a main character or character of interest. The fact that the images are either a close up or mid shot allows the audience to see the characters facial expressions and body language. The images are mostly from the film which will make sense to the audience who have seen the film however it gives hints to the narrative of the film to the audience who have not seen it. The use of main characters and popular actors on the front cover will attract the audience to the magazine as film lovers will recognise the character and be attracted. Most of the cover lines on the front cover fit to the genre of film on the cover or the actual film itself referring personally to the audiences needs. The use of pugs separates certain information to the rest of the cover lines, this information may be important to the magazine such as '25th birthday issue' or it can refer to the main film on the image for example 'The dark knight rises//the verdict'. The visual syntax is highly important on a magazine cover as the main things need to be in the eye of the audience such as the masthead, headline and the image. The image is what first draws the audiences attention as it takes up the majority of the page. This is followed by the masthead and the headline which are both equally important. The coverlines, taglines and pugs follow afterwards as they are less important and are therefore smaller on the page and less predominant. the house style colour are very contrasting such as the white and red and green and black this compliment each other to stand out and draw attention. The colour scheme is consistent therefore looks professional. The barcode is usually very small and is at the bottom of the page or at the back page being invisible.
Film Posters
Film posters are very similar to Film Billboards; their purpose being to advertise. Posters can be promoted in several different places such as magazines and around the a cinema area. These do not give much information as the billboards as a film poster only contains the title, a dominant image, a famous actor/actress name and some may include additional information such as a tag line, other actor/actresses and credits. As the genre I am looking into is horror then the colours should be very dark and in these examples the posters agree with that. The main background colour is black or grey giving the connotations of being unsafe and giving an eery effect. The text has to be easily read by the audience as this is important to the audience and is white which is contrasting and easily visible. The lighting of the image is also very dark being either a shadow or took with low-key lighting which gives the representation of the character being in danger. A third colour is usually used in most posters for additional connotations and information to stand out, in most horrors this is red orange giving the connotations of danger, evil, blood and anger. The images are very dominant and are mostly close ups this shows the facial expression of the character which in this case is scared clearly giving the audience the impression of the genre of the film and who it is suited towards. However the image on 'the uninvited' is mysterious as you cannot see the facial expression of the character and it is unknown to who this character is and if they are good or evil which makes the audience feel uneasy. The layout of film poster's are very minimalist centered as all the information on the poster is equally important.
DVD Covers
All DVD cover's feature a blurb on the back, this is to inform people of the general story line. There is also a tagline included for example on the Jessable cover the tagline is 'A secret from the past, a curse from the grave' this is a eye catching for the audience and intrigues them to think 'what happened in the past?' and 'who is in the grave?'. Most DVD cover's contain either a 'Special Features' or a 'also including box' this influences the audience to buy the DVD as it contains scenes that they have not seen before. The images on the back cover consists of scenes from the movie, these contain the main characters and a key scene or scenes that was included in the trailer, this images represent the genre of the film. DVD covers must contain the bar code, credits and the bbfc rating and any other additional information such as running time, the distributor and the production company. The layout of the DVD cover's are all pretty much the same and a kept very simple, the visual syntax is easy to follow starting with an image or tagline, following by the blurb, then another sequence of images and the additional information. This is ranked in relevance of the film and what will attract the audience the most. The house style is consistent throughout the back and front of the cover, this being two colours, both of these examples have used red and white. The white contrasting against the dark background being black and grey in these cases and emphasized text being in red showing important and standing out to the audience. Giving the connotations of 'evil' and 'blood' representing the genre of the film.

Intense Key Scene
This is Key Scene Number Two which we decided to film, using a camera, tripod, the setting of the park, a train station and props such as bags and alcohol.
Strengths: This key scene was set in Sutton Park, this was very successful as it was the type of setting that we imagined for the trailer. Me and Ree are starring in the trailer ourselves as relying on other people may be awkward and unreliable due to the other characters being at other schools and taking other A-levels, it also helps if there is any last minute filming needed. In my opinion, the location and most of the shots are up to a good standard seeing as this was our first time filming.
Negatives: In research we decided to use found footage which is filmed by hand-holding the camera, this was done at the train station and we found that this would not work very well as the camera was shaky therefore in the future we need to use a tripod. As this was our first attempt filming, there is room for improvement and practice on using a camera for example learning how to focus.

Production Team Members: Paige Manning and Rianne Murrain
Title Of Production: Intense
Synopsis: A group of friends decide to go camping in order to celebrate the end of exams and getting into Uni. Paige, Nisha, Phoebe and Ree plan to make the weekend a night they wont forget with a host of drugs and alcohol. Ree and Paige decide they're going to plan a few pranks on the unsuspecting other two as a bit of harmless fun, however things start happening which neither of the girls planned to happen. The group are left terrified with no signal and no way of escaping. There is a greater force at play, will the friends discover it and survive?
Detailed Narrative Outline: Ree and Paige decide to go camping inviting Nisha and Phoebe their best friends, this will be the last group outing before they all head off to different Uni's so they want to make it one last celebration they each will never forget. In the hype of the trip the girls decide to make it a true dark night in the woods planning typical school boy pranks to unleash the two boys who claim to be 'Un-spookable.' The group all meet at the train station setting off to Sutton Park; a notoriously known site for campers. On arrival the group decide to 'get the party started' without even setting up a camp first. The weather is turning, the howling of the wind is getting stronger on the break of the trees and the sky is turning grey. Uncaring about the weather they each take a pill downed with shots of vodka. Nisha and Phoebe then offer to set up the tents and then Paige says they'll go off to 'fill up the water canisters.' Unknown to the other two this is their cover to set up the pranks starting with Ree and Paige amateur-ly covering the bottom of the tap with tape so it will squirt out and soak the girls, they return to their pitch and tell Phoebe and Nisha the water source was unsuccessful. The boys tell them to carry on putting up the tent and they'll find water as obviously they will be more successful. They find the pump in seconds and laugh at Ree and Paige's incapability of anything, they go to turn on the tap but it wont move, both of them try at once - shifting it little by little suddenly a thick, red ooze shoots out of the tap followed by a child's giggle, freaked Nisha and Phoebe look around them and see a figure run away. Ree and Paige unknowingly are continuing their 'terrorizing' acts, cutting out eye shapes into toilet roll cartons and inserting glow sticks to create the illusion spooky eyes and putting them into the bushes. Nisha and Phoebe return covered in the red substance panting from running, claiming there's something out there. The other two girls tell them that they won't fall for their tricks and that it was them that rigged the tap. Nisha and Phoebe ask them how they got it to look like blood to which the girls give each other concerned looks but decide to go along with it as they think this is their trick. Nisha says that its all a pitiful yet hilarious attempt to try and scare them and to stop attempting. They all gather around the campfire and continue drinking and consuming drugs.
Phoebe notices the glowing eyes and starts freaking out because he thinks its moving, Nisha tries to assure her that it's all fine and just another one of the Ree's and Paige's silly tricks and she's just having a bad trip. Ree feels bad and goes to take down the prop as she does, something drags her in suddenly. Nisha and Paige start laughing and tell her to stop messing about. Ree's shouting that she's not playing around and that something has a hold of her. The three of them then grab on her to pull her out. Again a child's laughter is heard, followed by the sound of a whispering voice is calling each of their names from the darkness. Paige lends Ree a hand to get her up and asks her if she planned what just happened, Shocked at the accusation Ree erupts saying of course it wasn't her. Phoebe then steps in and starts having a go at the other two girls telling them that it's pathetic and that she's come to have a good time and that's what she intends to do, she storms back to their tent to take some more pills, Paige goes in after her to try and calm her down and stop her from taking anymore however she fails, without warning she suddenly starts foaming at the mouth and choking, Paige shouts for the others but its too late. She's stopped moving. In a panic the group all start screaming. Nisha goes to call the emergency services however she has no signal, she turns on his phone light around the tent to try to find what Phoebe had taken and finds that the bag of pills are red.

Found Footage Research
I have embedded the trailer of "The Tapes" (2011) because this involves found footage meaning it is recorded by a held hand camera by the characters themselves. I have chosen to use found footage because it creates more of a tense mood and helps engage the audience to how the characters feel because it is like the audience is there with the characters.
The Blair Witch project is another example of found footage and this follows the narrative of my film that three friends are haunted while being in the woods.

Production company and narrative ideas with audience feedback
I am in a group with Rianne Murrain and our chosen genre is paranormal horror.
We brainstormed out Production Institution names and decided on 'Supernatural Studios'. We have chosen 'Supernatural Studios'
We have created three idea's for the film narrative. As myself and Ree could not chose between them we set up a survey for our audience so they could decide. We posted this survey on social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook.
On our survey we received 36 responses; 21 being female and 15 being male from the ages 15-26+.
23 were aged between 15 and 18, 10 between 19 and 25 and 2 who were 26+. As the most people were from the age range 15-18 this will be our core audience.
The most popular narrative was idea one with 21 votes. Second was idea three with 11 and lastly idea two with 4 votes. As our audience hose idea one then that is the narrative which will be carried out.

Analysis of a students film trailer
As a class a film trailer from a pervious year was shown and we had to discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the film trailer. This film trailer was a D grade and the weaknesses were easier to find.
Strengths:
Use of Props
Good use of camera shots
Good acting
Music creates tensions and a good atmosphere
Lots of inter-titles
Contains production information
Weaknesses:
Some inter-titles does not fit the screen
There is no narrative/plot shown
Dialogue is too quiet so it cannot be heard over the soundtrack
Different locations and shots do not follow
Inter-title font does fit fit with the genre
Camera is unfocused
Camera cuts are shaky and look unprofessional
Mise-en-scene and use of props was basic
